Gee whiz, maybe we should trust technology to solve problems. Just like in the old days!
It used to be that we trusted our scientists and engineers to do their jobs - solve problems and create new products. This study shows that they're still doing their jobs. We just need to trust them again! When did we turn against education? Some want to replace our public schools with more... er... religious approach. Some want to get rid of the Department of Education. Teaching to minimal core standards has been bad-mouthed for years. The result? The latest PISA rankings put the US at number twenty-five worldwide based on math, science and reading. We must make a quality education easily obtainable for everyone in this country, and then allow knowledgeable people to start making decisions (rather than our corrupt politicians!).
